Hey, I'm Aftan.

Aftan Strong is the Senior Counselor at The Family Law Firm, PLLC.  As a mental health counselor and family law attorney, Aftan is in a unique position to help her clients who are facing both legal and emotional problems as they navigate their family law issues. Aftan has a unique combination of training and experience specializing in family, occupational, and interpersonal counseling. Her approach to therapy is to provide a warm and welcoming environment that encourages vulnerability and honesty. 

Aftan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Medicine, Health and Society from Vanderbilt University and is a graduate of the Williams James College.  There, she was specially trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Therapy, Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Multicultural Psychotherapy.  

After graduate school, Aftan earned her Juris Doctor from Belmont University. With a wealth of experience in psychology and law, Aftan is equipped and ready to assist with your counseling and family law needs.
